eggsBack-to-School Block Party

The annual back-to-school block party is held a few days before the new school year begins. The block party provides an opportunity for students and families to meet new teachers, drop of supplies, catch up with old friends and make new ones, and share a potluck meal together! Held on N. McArthur Street between E. High and E. Chestnut Streets, the block party combines food and fun into a memorable way to start the new school year.

Fish Dinners

St. Vincent de Paul School sponsors Lenten Fish Dinners every Friday during Lent (except for Good Friday). Dinners are served from 4:30 – 7:00 pm. Everyone’s help is needed to make these dinners a success. Proceeds are divided between Interchurch Social Services and St. Vincent de Paul.

Parents of current students: we rely on your volunteer support with various tasks, from set-up to food preparation to tear-down and more, to keep these dinners running smoothly. Your service is appreciated, and counts toward your volunteer hours!

auctionDinner Dance

The annual silent auction, dinner, and dance is held in March, each year with a different theme. Many items, services, amenities, and class gifts are contributed and auctioned off each year, and a few items are saved for a live auction later in the evening. st-nickSt. Nicholas Day

St. Vincent de Paul celebrates the feast of St. Nicholas every December. The children place a shoe in the hallway and the next day the shoe is filled with candy, apples, and other treats. There is also a St. Nick Dinner with games, music, and a visit by you-know-who.

St. Nicholas is the patron saint of children and bakers. During his life, Nicholas was very generous to the poor and acted as a special protector of the to the innocent and wronged. Over the years, his story has become known as the story of Santa Claus, cherished around the world.
